CONCEPT OF THE FILM
Writer Sharathchandra Menon published his stories under the name ‘Shalini’ who was his wife. Soon, Shalini became a famous writer and received numerous awards. Sharathchandra Menon didn’t want any fame kept this as a secret and enjoyed his life with his friends. The relationship between both of them grew distant and it was too late for patching it up.
Shartchandra Menon left his home and lived far away in a resort where he meets a few youngsters and starts a new life filled with happiness. He even decides to publish his latest work under his own name, but the problem was that, as he was not famous as a writer, the publishers was not ready to take the risk and publish his work. At this same time, journalists are in the lookout for Shalini’s writings, but as she neither wrote those stories nor had the talent to do so, she hid herself from all the media and publicities.
Sharathchandra Menon at the end decides to publish under his wife’s name. As soon as the media came to know about the new work being published, they came to talk to Shalini, but Shalini had no idea what was happening and got completely puzzled.
Shalini’s friend Hema insisted her to find Menon, hence she seeks the help of Prabhakaran, the editor to whom Sharathchandra Menon sends his stories under the pen name of his wife. Shalini tells Prabhakaran the secret that she is not the person behind the writings, but it was her husband. Prabhakaran helps Shalini to find Sharathchandra Menon and he kept the secret and didn’t let it out.
Finally, Prabhakaran found the residence of Sharathchandra Menon, but the person he was looking for was not there, instead a devastating news awaited him; Sharathchandra Menon had ended his life. He also receives a novel from the youngsters in the resort which was the last work done by Sharathchandra Menon under his wife’s name. When this was published, it was greatly accepted and appreciated by the public.
When Shalini reaches Dubai to accept the World Writer’s Foundation award for her new novel, she announces that the real author behind her works was actually her husband, and she did not deserve the award. This is when the readers came to know about the writer Sharathchandra Menon.
